Since 1948 we have witnessed a genocide.
Right now, people of Gaza has suffered for more than a year with escalation of the genocide thousands have been massacred, starved and millions displaced.
Homes, hospitals, universities, places of worship, schools, businesses deliberately destroyed.
We have witnessed the torture, the rape, the worse possible atrocities by the unlawful apartheid state of israel against Palestinians.
We have watched these colonisers squatting on Palestinian land
Today as we in South Africa looked out at the sea we video called of our young people in Gaza.
They have been displaced more than 14 times their homes destroyed, and they find themselves living in make shift tents on the beach.
Many of their families and loved ones have been massacred by the immoral evil IDF forces
In Gaza, Right now, it is Winter, there is no food, a lack of food warm clothes and often their tents are soaked due to rain and destroyed due to wind. Or their makeshift tents are washed away.
Yet despite the heartache their resistance and faith grow and joy on their face to see the solidarity and love from South Africa to Gaza
Our Swim with Gaza this year is to keep faith with the people of Gaza, to continue to resist the oppressors, to fight apartheid and oppression in Gaza and around the world
To educate, create awareness and to awaken the world to the threat of the evil forces against humanity.
We will push forward and hold all guilty of apartheid accountable, as the reality is that the colonisers continue to push their apartheid agendas
We will continue to hold to account those party to and fuelling the genocide by ensuring boycotts, divestment and sanctions
We will not stop until Palestine is free!
