On Friday 25 October, MP Honourable Advocate Shameemah Salie was invited to the launch of “My Cancer Journal” by Yumna Abrahams Booran, a coach, entrepreneur, and cancer survivor.
The launch took place at the stylish Saiy Coffee, indeed a coffee shop where you can savor the luxurious Karak tea, coffee, and a meal while enjoying the elegant and welcoming atmosphere.
Yumnah is such a humble beautiful soul who easily opened up to share her journey of discovery of breast cancer, her hardships and challenges in a manner that makes one connect in laughter, sadness and gratitude.
Her resilience, faith and caring loving personality is indeed captivating.Her launch and her experience is raw in emotion, genuine in feeling and one could connect on many levels.
Shameemah Salie went further in saying.”At a time where so many are going through the journey of cancer, or are cancer survivors or have loved ones who have died of or who are going through cancer,this event for me personally was much needed.”
Yumnah has shared so much in her cancer journal that it is a book that we need to have in our homes to prepare us holistically. This transformative journal is designed to support women living with cancer, their families, and caregivers through a 12-month journey of faith, healing, and empowerment.
At this event, we were introduced to discover the purpose and inspiration behind the journal.We were able to hear from Yumna Abrahams Booran as she shared her cancer journey and her motivation for creating the journal. We were able to engage with other women and families navigating similar challenges.We were able to meet friends of Yumna and get access to their products and of course meet with her beautiful mom, siblings, children and supporters.
We were able to enjoy a meaningful and inspiring evening dedicated to raising cancer awareness and fostering resilience within the community.
Shameemah Salie went further in saying”Yumnah my sister may Allah grant you good health, imaan, taqwa, baraqa, gayr and the ability to continue to expand to reaching many more through your coaching, and your journal and your very giving and caring personality sharing of yourself through qudrat of Allah in the most unselfish manner.
