Oversight conducted by MP Adv Shameemah Salie, Cllr Adv Yusuf Khan Dalwai and ward officer Fatimah Dollie in Pelican Park – on grounds identified for sports facilities years ago, which the community advised.
Up until today there has been no infrastructure for sports and recreation for youth development despite several queries and requests to COCT.
According to the community, youth are finding themselves playing soccer in the street or on the field which is in a very poor state filled with mole hills and holes.
A sports and recreation infrastructure is much needed in the community to provide for the empowerment of especially the youth in the area. Further investigation into the concerns raised is being conducted by Al Jama’ah
