Adelle Pillay is a 22-year-old resident in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal. She is currently in her final year of studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA), majoring in English Home Language and Geography.
As the administrator of the Al Jama-ah Villagers League and part of the Al Jama-ah Core administrative staff, she is dedicated to transforming rural villages into smart villages.
Since August 2023, she has been serving as an Executive Member of the Al Jama-ah Women’s League. In this capacity, she had the privilege of positively impacting and developing the lives of numerous women across South Africa.
In KwaZulu-Natal, she oversees a program that empowers women to establish small clothing businesses by providing them with rolls of fabric. This initiative has already benefited approximately 100 women nationwide, helping them to become self-sufficient and economically independent.
Adelle says, “I believe that financial independence is of importance for women in society today, and I am grateful I had the opportunity to impact so many women’s lives.”
