Al Jama-ah slaughters lambs for distribution to its Constituency who will be celebrating Eid-Al-Adha
In celebration of the sighting of the moon on Sunday 18 June 2023 to herald in the Day of Arafat on Tuesday 27 2023, the Al Jama-ah Political Party has slaughtered 50 lambs; this is for distribution amongst its Western Cape Constituency who will be celebrating Eid Al Adha (Festival of Sacrifice).
The sacrificing of cattle normally takes place the day after Arafat. “But the distribution of the lamb meat will enable Muslim families to cook a pot of lamb curry either on the day of Arafat or in celebration of Eid-Al-Adha. Included with the parcel of meat will be the spices, vegetables, and rice,” says the Party’s Marketing Manager Ms Nisa Siers.
The Party has secured a tasty lamb curry recipe, easy enough for the cook, who could be the dad in the family, to make a mild or strong curry. The distribution will be all over the Cape Town Metro – mainly in Lansdowne and Athlone where the majority of the Party’s Constituency resides as well as in Paarl and Stellenbosch.
“Those keen on a nice pot of lamb curry either on the day of Arafat or on Eid-Al-Adha, will not be left out,” says Siers.
