The Al Jama-ah Pelican Park ward 67 has 10 ladies who belong to the Al Jama-ah Women’s league.
These ladies assist the vulnerable on a daily basis, whether it’s someone in need of a loaf of bread, a house burning down, floods or if someone is sick – they are always busy assisting.They are willing to put their lives on hold to assist the communities who need them.
Fatimah Dollie Morgan is the team leader for this wonderful group of ladies.
She is the most selfless and dedicated field worker striving towards the upliftment and protection of women and children.

The Southern Suburbs Womens League have been assisting women with sewing machines and material to make themselves sufficient. They have had cancer awareness programs, youth day celebrations as well as women’s day celebrations.
The ward 67 committee has run gender based violence programs. The women’s league has run karaoke evenings so that the ladies from the community can take some time out from their day to day struggles.
Fatima say s”We have women popping in at the office daily just to vent about their struggles and we give them a listening ear and try to change their moods. We try to assist when women have problems with kids being on drugs by getting assistance for them.”
The Southern Suburbs womens league provides assistance in getting women with small kids into shelters. They also receive counselling, in order for them to change their circumstances. For Women’s month they visited women shelters, old age homes and orphanages to donate clothes, toiletries to our beloved women and girls.
