AL JAMA-AH VILLAGERS LEAGUE CELEBRATES 2ND ANNIVERSARY WITH REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

March 26, 2024 – The Al Jama-ah Villagers League, the esteemed party’s wing dedicated to uplifting rural and semi-rural communities, proudly marks its 2nd anniversary this March. In the span of two years, the league has spearheaded transformative initiatives across South Africa’s nine provinces, aimed at empowering the underprivileged, with a special focus on women and small businesses.

With a commitment to effecting tangible change, the league has implemented various programs that have made a significant impact on the lives of villagers. One notable accomplishment includes the provision of essential tools to a rural Eastern Cape village, effectively transforming it into a thriving fishing community. This initiative stands as a testament to the league’s dedication to improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable development in remote areas.

Additionally, the Al Jama-ah Villagers League has played a pivotal role in the establishment of a peanut butter factory in Kwa Dukuza, KwaZulu-Natal, further bolstering economic opportunities and fostering entrepreneurship within the region. This strategic endeavour underscores the league’s commitment to catalysing local industries and creating employment opportunities for residents.

On a national scale, the league has embarked on a sewing campaign aimed at empowering women with sewing skills. Through the provision of seed capital in the form of material grants, aspiring entrepreneurs have been equipped with the resources needed to launch small-scale businesses, thereby fostering economic independence and self-sufficiency.

KwaZulu-Natal Co-chair of the Al Jama-ah Villagers League and Provincial election candidate for KwaZulu-Natal, expressed immense pride in the league’s accomplishments over the past two years. “The Al Jama-ah Villagers League remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower marginalized communities across South Africa,” remarked Khan. “We are committed to driving positive change and ensuring that every villager has the opportunity to thrive.”
