Cllr Kabelo Ashly Nthekiso was sworn in as the PR Councillor on the 22nd of November 2021 in Madibeng Local Municipality precinct in Brits, North West following the 2021 Local Government Elections which saw him contesting his home ward in the last 2 weeks prior to elections.
Born and bred in Jakkalasdans Village in the Klipgat cluster. Cllr Nthekiso previously served as the councillor in Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.
Cllr Nthekiso who is from ward 8 in Madibeng, managed to win the Phasha-Maloka VD during the elections and went heads on with the ANC candidate in the Marang VD which ANC won narrowly. After getting 1100 votes from his home ward this was enough to earn him and the party a PR seat at the municipality. Cllr Nthekiso earned this seat with overall African votes and caught many parties by surprise. He overtook both EFF and DA who were previously oppositions in the ward and ultimately made AL JAMA-AH the main opposition in the ward and in the cluster. Mr Nthekiso is by far the youngest councillor in Madibeng Local Municipality
Community driven and passionate about humanitarian work. Nthekiso served as Secretary General of the Progressive Student Movement before being elected as the President in 2017. He is well known in his area as “Ntwana ya Kasi”. His humanitarian work has built him a myriad followership in his area and neighborhood. He is a qualified Health and Safety Officer, Educator and also has merits in leadership and governance.

Cllr Nthekiso serves in the committee for local economic development and tourism as well as committee for infrastructure and technical services, recently cllr Nthekiso has been included in the Rules and ethics committee. Cllr Nthekiso elected to serve in the committees as he is extremely concerned about the deteriorating state of tourism in the region. Madibeng is by far the most tourism attraction destination in the region housing the most precious sites such as Haartebeespoort Dam, Klipvoordam, Dikhololo, Borakalalo game reserve to name a few. Further to this Madibeng houses myriad of mines which should play a significant role in the development of the local economy and emancipation thereof. Further note that Madibeng is a farming municipality.
