American Ambassador Reuben E. Brigety II should serve his full term in office says Al Jama-ah:
Al Jama-ah’s leader and Member of Parliament has welcomed the clarity given on the position of American Ambassador to South Africa, HE Reuben E. Brigety II, to serve his full term in office.
Earlier this year, Ambassador Brigety alleged that South Africa has made an arms’ sale to Russia and that the weapons were loaded onto the US-sanctioned Russian cargo vessel, Lady R when it docked at the Simon’s Town naval base in December 2022.
“The controversy around the matter has now been cleared and the ambassador will stay on in his post. We need Ambassador Brigety’s support and for South Africa and to improve relations with our trading partner on the eve of BRICS. This will also put American companies at ease as we would like to see them double their increase of employment, especially with the employment of youth,” says Hendricks.
He says the Ambassador can assist with remote employment and that he will be engaging with him on the matter.
