EMPOWERING YOUTH: NURTURING LEADERSHIP FOR THE FUTURE
“A new message which advocates a total change in the social order often attracts young people whose vision of a better life
gives them a strong motive to work hard for their beliefs.”
Adil Salahi in his biography on Prophet Muhammad (S).
Al Jama-Ah Youth Indaba
The youth indaba held yesterday is a platform for our youth of Al Jama-ah to ensure their voices are heard on all 3 tiers of government
It is a platform for training, nurturing and empowering our youth to be the much needed change in our country whereby they are enabled to Legislate and correctly participate and be a voice raising their concerns and providing their input on many matters affecting them and their future
It is platform where the youth becomes less dependent on government and ensures accountability of government surrounding their rights but further a platform where one of the main issues of concern raised by youth is addressed education, skills and employment
It is a platform where concerns raised by youth is escalated in the different tiers of government and sustainable solutions are secured
The voices of the youth are too often silenced in many political parties and organizations where they voice their concerns and frustrations but not much is done about it.
Al Jama-ah alongside our members youth will work on sustainable real solutions and we will have more workshops aimed at training empowerment and upliftment for the youth!
The following youth organisations were present: UCT, CPUT Mowbray, UWC, Sunni African Ulama Counsel, HOPE, Progressive students movement, PAGAD, Palestine Solidarity Forum
