Women’s League
THE LAUNCH OF AL JAMA-AH WOMEN’S LEAGUE
Alone as women we are strong but we are “Stronger Together”
Women have been on the forefront of coalitions and we have been able to come together, work together, nurture, care for, uplift and empower our communities, our country and each other.
Women have been able to set aside differences over generations for the common good of humanity and have been on the forefront of change indeed women together is a force that many will fear for “if you strike a women you strike a rock”
Al Jama-ah recognize that women needs a political platform whereby they can be the leaders of beneficial change and be fully participative in the much needed transformation required in our country.
MEET THE PRESIDENT OF AL JAMA-AH WOMEN’S LEAGUE!
AL JAMA-AH’S WOMEN’S LEAGUE PRESIDENT ASSISTS WITH ERADICATING POVERTY
AL JAMA-AH Party is honored to have a woman of the caliber of Mrs Veli Luthuli, the youngest daughter in-law of Chief Albert Luthuli who served as the ANC’s President-General from 1952 until his death in 1967, as an active member of the party.
Ma Luthuli is the President of Al Jama-ah’s Women’s League and plays an active role in creating employment and to eradicate poverty amongst villagers in Groutville. Groutville is a village rich in growing peanuts; with the assistance from Al Jama-ah, Ma Luthuli formed a co-opt of mainly unemployed women and established a peanut butter manufacturing factory. In September 2022 the Social Development Department’s office of the then Minister, arranged for a representative of the UN World Food Programme to visit the peanut butter project.
The project has since then expanded and packed into labelled jars for marketing. The cooperative hopes that the marketing of their product will reach beyond local, provincial and national levels.

CELEBRATING WOMEN’S MONTH. CELEBRATING YOU!
HONOURING THE WOMEN OF SOUTH AFRICA
This Women’s Month we recognise and honour the indomitable spirit of our nation’s women. Honouring their struggles, their achievements and their contribution to every aspect of society.
Women’s Month is a testament to their resilience.
From the heroines of the anti-apartheid movement to the trailblazers of today, South African women have always been at the forefront of driving change and progress. To honour and in celebration of this indomitable spirit Al-Jama ah in collaboration with the Paarl Museum, hosted the book launch of Gaireyah Fredericks, author of: “een voet innie kabr”.
It was an emotional event and a fitting tribute to the spirit of our women.
Together, let us build a South Africa where all women can thrive, and their contributions are celebrated.
