Al Jama-Ah Supports Umdoni Council’s Stance On Illegal Strike
Al Jama-ah strongly supports the Umdoni Municipality Council’s position regarding the ongoing illegal strike by municipal workers. We firmly believe that this strike imposes undue hardship on the residents of Umdoni, disrupting essential services and impacting daily life.
We stand by the principle that the law of “no work, no pay” must be strictly enforced in this situation. Workers who choose to engage in illegal strikes must face the consequences of their actions. This is not only a matter of legal compliance but also of fairness to those who continue to perform their duties diligently.
Al Jama-ah acknowledges the grievances of the municipal staff and emphasizes that these concerns must be addressed appropriately. The correct and lawful platform for resolving such disputes is the bargaining council, where workers’ unions can negotiate on behalf of the employees. It is through this structured and legal process that equitable solutions can be found without disrupting the lives of Umdoni’s residents.
Our party remains steadfast in its commitment to the principles of justice and equality for both staff and residents. We urge all parties involved to seek resolution through dialogue and legal avenues, ensuring that the community’s needs are met and that municipal services are restored without further delay.
Al Jama-ah calls for immediate action to uphold the rule of law and to protect the interests of the Umdoni community. Together, let us work towards a fair and just outcome for all.
