AL JAMA-AH mourns with Azapo on the tragic loss of their Western Cape leader who was brutally gunned down by extortionists:
Al Jama-ah Party has expressed its condolences to Azapo (Azanian People’s Organisation) in the Western Cape at the tragic loss of their provincial leader Comrade Mzimkhulu Nojozi who was gunned down by extortion thugs near his Gugulethu home on Sunday 02 June 2024.
At a memorial service held last night (Wednesday 12 June 2024) at the JL Zwane Church in Gugulethu, the Party has called on communities to unite in taking action to address strategies to rid communities of criminal activities, drugs, gangsterism and extortion.
The Western Cape is not only riddled with gangsterism and drugs, but also has a history of extortion which is threatening local economy, we demand that the DA-run province implements effective measures to eradicate extortion which is disrupting black businesses in Cape Town’s townships on the Cape Flats.
They (DA-Province) must stop treating crime on the Cape Flats as secondary compared to the crime-preventative measures they deploy in the city and leafy suburbs.
“Al Jama-ah and Azapo are in the process of finalizing a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on the two parties working relationship in the Western Cape. We will address issues of crime and to give academic support to struggling learners. This will be in memory of comrade Nojozi who played an instrumental role in the formation of Azapo’s project, Black Students Study Project which offered free tuition to learners during the 1980s,” says Hon Ganief Hendricks, Al Jama–ah’s leader and Member of Parliament.
Al Jama-ah salutes Nojozi for his honesty and steadfastness against all forms of crime and corruption.
