Honourable Salie continues an oversight in Jouberton with the Sports, Arts and Culture Portfolio Committee at Matlosana Sports Stadium.

What a disgrace that millions are spent on maintenance, there is no accountability, lack of oversight, lack of following protocols and procedures and historical problems which continue to persist in our country.

The Matlosana Community is most definitely not benefiting from this complex. Justice is not being done for the people of Matlosana

The construction stopped even though funds were paid, leaving questions as to what happened to the funds.

There is a lack of maintenance leading to damage on what has been constructed. Thus far R 5298925 has already been spent.

The commencement date of the project was July 2016.

Water retention problems exist with Irrigation reticulation and electrical reticulation

There has been removal of grass, but the grass has already grown back.

There has been a supply and installation of synthetic track and part of a payment, but nothing is visible.

Right now, there is no athletic track, neither the Mayor or MMC was present when oversight was done only the Technical Director was present.

Including 1.7 paid for artificial grass but there is no information on what happened to funds paid as the amount intended was not utilized. What happened to the funds?

There is a time lapse from 2016 to 2025. What has happened during this period?

Accountability needs to be taken and to ensure those responsible for the condition need to be held accountable.

Representatives of the municipality need to be acknowledged.

Reports are lacking and lack of a detailed breakdown has been provided.

(MP observed the quality of reports provided shocking considering the fact but by now the Municipality would have provided information surrounding failures witnessed as the complex has stood still for a lengthy period)

The information presented on questioning was highly concerning and firmly addressed with representatives.

One of the representatives of the municipality advised that cricket, and soccer is being played, and that SAFA uses the field.

Observations have been made that there are no nets on the poles and no lines for soccer. It is evident that the grounds are not being utilized.

The grass is too long, buildings are not being maintained and the ground is waterlogged. There is absolutely no cricket pitch as indicated by the representative.

Presentations made are very concerning and there is a lack of information.

The Athletic track remains non-existent and the current structure is not being maintained.
