Advocate Salie attended a meeting held at Tswaing Community Arts Centre.

Presenters provide a history on pre and post 1994 of community art centres.

Today these centres are intended to promote access to and participation in arts for all South Africans and to receive training for the purpose of education, recreation, cultural development and enrichment and income generation

It became evident from the presentation and visits to the different structures that more funding is required in this sector for holistic improvements from infrastructure, resources and skills.

Each member was provided an opportunity to engage with the young people providing motivation and inspiration.

This was the first oversight venue in Northwest where the young people responded to the Universal greeting of peace Assalaam moe alaykoem. They warmed my heart.

Indeed, it was heartwarming to engage the youth, speak to them about our background, holding on to faith, God first, working hard, not giving up but further to fight for what is right and fair, to continue the amazing work of volunteering that they do and to leave a legacy.

Our youth should know never to limit themselves or to let anyone limit their potential. They need to be encouraged to follow their dreams and grasp the opportunities.
