Princess Zulu Pays Tribute To Al Jama-Ah For Its Role Played In The Welcoming Ceremony Of King Moshoeshoe

The Princess paid tribute to AL Jama-ah and its leader, Hon Ganief Hendricks, Deputy Minister for Social Development for the role the party played in the welcoming ceremony of bringing back the spirit of their great grandfather, King Moshoeshoe.

Princess Zulu granddaughter of King Moshoeshoe, was addressing the Al Jama-ah leadership in East London last night, Tuesday 15 October 2024.

She explained that the village had tried everything to retrieve his remains from Robben Island, where he was imprisoned in the 1800s, but to no avail. However, after some members of the PAC political party merged with AL Jama-ah, actions were taken to fulfil the royal family’s request.

Earlier this year, the royal family and members of the PAC had submitted a proposal to AL Jama-ah, which the party promptly responded to and took action on.

Although complications on Robben Island prevented the recovery of King Moshoeshoe’s physical remains, his spirit was fetched and buried in Cofimvaba, the royal family’s ancestral home.

The Princess expressed the royal family’s gratitude to AL Jama-ah for their success in this matter, achieved in just a few weeks, bringing much-needed closure to the family.
