Al Jama-ah Western Cape Youth Wing. She is the head of Outreach for the MSA UWC and a radio presenter at Radio 786.
Ramla is one of the youngest candidates on Al Jama-ah’s party list.
At 20 years old, she has a regular feature on Radio 786, reaching out to the radio’s Isi’Xhosa listenership.
As a young person, she advocates for the inclusion of the youth in community and political life and understands the plights of marginalised persons and communities. It is hoped that her unique perspective, as a young, black Muslim female, will add a critical drive within the Party. Al Jama-ah recognises that the youth must receive the required mentorship and opportunities so that they may properly take up a meaningful role in society and politics. The youth currently remain marginalised within these spaces. She is ranked 6th on the national party list; and 17th on the provincial party list.
Ramla says “I use my voice in all of the platforms I am in to advocate for women. I always strive to enter spaces which do not have a lot of women dominance, to uplift and empower other women. I am now currently doing a WOMEN’S MONTH DRIVE, where the focus is giving back to the women who are unable to do so.”
