As a political party within the South African democratic environment, Al Jama-ah leadership wishes to give its full support to UCT’s Palestinian Solidarity Forum (PSF) as well as Palestinian Solidarity Campaign (PSC). The PSF hosted on-campus awareness programmes on the Zionist forces on-going killing, maiming, and harming of Palestinians. The PSF and PSC rightfully protested against their inhumane atrocities.

At one of the PSF’s on-campus meeting, Al Jama-ah’s leader and Member of Parliament Hon Ganief Hendricks explained why the party called on the South African government to supply defensive weapons to the Resistance Movements in Palestine to enforce the United Nations Resolutions on the right to resist. Hendricks made a similar call to Mr Aleksei Malenko the consul-general of the Russian Federation in Cape Town at a meeting recently.

But as expected, Cape Town’s aggressive gangster-like Zionist lobby group has been on the attack; its members were not only harassing but they were also violating our student groups’ rights; these organizations have rightfully spoken out condemning apartheid Israel’s atrocious acts against the beleaguered Palestinians. The Zionist forces showed utter disrespect to those who attended the Al Aqsa masjid and communities across Palestine.

While they claim the ‘moral high-ground’, they have acted despicably; they have reacted inhumanely; and they have demonstrated their immoral behaviour at all levels publicly. None of us, who have respect for others, who tolerate others, who treat others in a dignified manner, should stand by the side permitting these Zionist hooligans, who consider us all (Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and others) gentiles, to react towards our rights and obligations.

We, as the former apartheid oppressed community, dislike and reject any form of oppression wherever it may be around the globe; and we definitely stand against Zionist Israel’s occupation of and brutal repression of the people of Palestine. The Zionists aggressively pushed Palestinians from their homes and emptied the land that they ruthlessly stole and now shamelessly own! That, in our view, is a form of state gangsterism – a Zionist tactic – bankrolled by Europe and the USA.

So, if anyone of us oppose them, then we are labelled ‘anti-Semitic’; how convenient and how dishonest!  On this point, we have never been anti-Semitic and nor have anyone of us who spoken out against Jewish communities (especially the orthodox ones that do not associate with the ultra-right!). If we had been anti-Semitic as these Zionists cleverly claim, then we would be anti-Arab since Arabs are Semites as well! But they seem to be entitled to appropriate certain phrases and words at the expense of others!

We, who critique the Zionists, remain truthful when we stated that the Zionists are racist; this we openly say for they are the ones who adopt divisive methods that make as if they are ‘innocent’ when they are not!
