FUNDING REQUEST
Our operations centre is at 38 Ysterhout Street Suburban Delft close to the sandy holding camp in Blikkiesdorp and in the heart of the poorest but fully integrated area in the northern suburbs. Fifteen years ago houses were allocated to mix the street with all race groups and African speakers representing all the languages in the country. There is not a single suburb in the country where most of the different people in the country live side by side and in harmony. But HIV/Aids, poverty and education of young children assisting them with a headstart in Mathematics and English is a challenge. Our Foundation have definite plans to make a difference in these areas. Our activities are limited to assisting a dozen feeding schemes in the area and outside its perimeters. With financial assistance we will be able to do more development work. We are also keen to employ a researcher to document our activities and the progress made, so donors can assess if their financial assistance is making incremental changes to the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in our country.
We have a target of R1 millon rand for the period 1 September to 28 February 2012 and a target for the next financial year of R3 million. Employing the researcher is our first step to set up a lean and mean organizational structure to take the challenges referred to further. The researcher will go street to street to find what communities want while the Foundation continues its feeding schemes.
The graveyards around our area of operation are filling up because of Aids deaths and this is an area where we want to intervene to keep people infected with Aids alive and to do advocacy work amongst the many other bodies involved in good causes. We are listed in the Directory of Aids Services of the Western Cape provincial government and well placed to help them.
Looking forward to a financial contribution
